BENOLIEL, JOSEPH:
Portuguese translator; lived at Lisbon. He wrote the small book, "Porat Yosef" (Joseph's Fruitful Bough; see Gen. xlix. 22), containing Spanish translations of the sayings of the Fathers, the Pesaḥ-Haggadah, the Song of Solomon, the Books of Ruth and of Esther, Lamentations, and of some Hafṭarot (Lisbon, 1887).
