HERRMANN, LEO:
French painter; born in Paris July 12, 1853. He was a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts at Paris, and exhibited his first picture, "A Bout d'Argument," in the Paris Salon of 1875. It was followed in 1876 by "La Bonne Histoire." Since then he has been a constant exhibitor in the Salon. Among his paintings may be mentioned: "Le Scandale du Jour" (1877); "Au Rendez-Vous" (1887); "Le Goûter" (1889); "Au Cabaret" (1896).
